"Connecting Asia"
The 2001 Harvard Asia Business Conference
February 2-3, 2001

Globalization has presented Asia with unprecedented opportunities and challenges. Asian countries are increasingly connected with the rest of the world via capital flows, information, technology, trade and governance. Connecting Asia seeks to provide its participants with a deeper understanding of Asia's place in our increasingly global world and a clearer framework for understanding what it will take to thrive in a truly connected Asia.

Connecting Asia is the 8th annual conference of the Harvard Business School's Asia Business Club and will be held at the school. Last year it attracted over 1,200 panelists and participants. Its format centers around a number of distinguished keynote speakers and a set of panels that will analyze salient aspects of Asian globalization.

This year's keynote speakers are:

In addition, the conference will feature 6 panels (each covering 3 topics) and 3 plenary sessions on topics ranging from macroeconomic trends, the wireless opportunity in Japan, and commercial piracy in China.  Each session will feature expert panelists and moderators drawn from industry, government and academia.
